Thom Chafee is a 4th year PhD Candidate in Geophysics at Stanford in the lab of Dr. Sonia Tikoo. His research is at the intersection of planetary science, paleomagnetism, and thermodynamics, investigating the nature of the ancient lunar magnetic field and the thermal characteristics of the minerals which record it. Thomas is passionate about open science and scientific education, and plans to use his degree as an educator in earth and planetary sciences.
